THE PROJECT »
Addiction affects families across BC: of all youth who experiment with drugs and alcohol, one in ten will go on to become addicted, beginning a destructive cycle that damages young people, their families, and the community.

The Crossing at Keremeos will be the first long-term residential treatment centre in BC for youth who are challenged by addiction. Research shows that long-term care offers the best opportunity for successful recovery. This 42-bed centre for young people aged 14-24 is scheduled to welcome the first group of youth this December, 2008, with full occupancy scheduled for spring, 2009.

THE LOCATION »
Central City Foundation will provide a 58-acre property in the Similkameen Valley for The Crossing. This secluded, rural space with plenty of fresh air and natural trails is a place where youth can take inspiration from the beauty and tranquility of a natural preserve. READ MORE >>

HOW YOU CAN HELP»The Ministry of Health will contribute $2.4 million annually to cover the operational costs of this program, which includes support for Canada’s finest wrap-around services for participants and their families. CCF will provide the land. However, another $6 million is urgently needed to renovate and retrofit existing buildings, and in some cases, for new construction. We at Central City are leading the capital campaign to raise these funds. DONATE NOW >>
