Fair in the Square
Central City Foundation and Vancouver Community College
More than 3,000 neighbours came together for another great day full of music, hot dogs, smokies, cupcakes, hot chocolate, lemonade, face painting and celebration at the 2010 Fair in the Square!
For the fourth year now, Central City Foundation and Vancouver Community College came together to organize a special afternoon for the community with great food, fun and entertainment and an extensive fair of community groups, artists and artisans selling their wares.
Truly, it was a memorable day that would not have been possible without the generosity of our many sponsors, in-kind contributors and the incredible efforts of more than 200 volunteers who swept and raked, loaded and carried, prepared and served buns and smokies and cupcakes, and generally shared a little caring and good cheer with our neighbours!

 On a cool clear evening in early March, Centre A in the heart of the Downtown Eastside was filled with a lively crowd of Central City Foundation’s friends, supporters, neighbours, donors, grant recipients and community partners. What a perfect evening: wonderful guests, tasty food, and countless examples of the creativity and generosity of our community.

100th Anniversary Celebration
(first annual party in the park)
 When we started planning our 100th anniversary celebration, we realized right away that the best possible thing we could do was to throw a party for our neighbours. As an organization dedicated to investing in our community we wanted to thank that community for our century of working together. So we brought together our neighbours, folks living and working in the inner city, and our donors and supporters. We all spent a beautiful September afternoon in Victory Square Park sharing food, entertainment and friendship. It was so perfect that we decided to do it every year, and so our 100th anniversary party was also our first annual party in the park.

Second Annual Party in the Park
In 2008 we had another party, this time partnering with Vancouver Community College, our neighbour. We celebrated again with food and entertainment and highlighted our newest project, The Crossing at Keremeos.
