The sixth annual Fair in the Square, a free community celebration, concert and BBQ lunch, returns to Victory Square Park at Hastings and Cambie in downtown Vancouver on Sunday, May 27, 2012 from 11am to 2pm.
Hosted by Central City Foundation with partner Vancouver Community College, this important neighbourhood celebration will have live music from the concert stage, a free barbecue lunch feeding thousands, and dozens of community groups, artists and artisans displaying and selling their wares. There will be contests and prize draws, cupcakes, lemonade, watermelon and more creating a festive atmosphere for neighbours celebrating with neighbours.

WHO: Musical guests include singer-songwriter Christine Magee; teen rockers The Bank Dogs; electro-indie soul group Bear Mountain; and Juno award-winning hip-hop artist, previously with the group Swollen Members, Moka Only. DJ David “Love” Jones from CITR-Radio & Vinyl Records on East Cordova will keep the crowds entertained between sets. Uzume Taiko Drummers will open the Fair and the 40-piece Little Mountain Brass Band will close it out.
